The ES-125 was updated again in 1950 with an adjustable P-90 pickup and dot inlays. Upon its reintroduction in 1946, the ES-125 changed in a number of ways including a wider body, a new P-90 pickup, and trapezoid inlays.

The tuners have been replaced with later '50s Kluson single lines, and the pick guard has been replaced, although we believe it to be from a similar period.Īs with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and set up by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and includes our 3 year warranty. The ES-125 evolved out of the ES-100 in 1941 and was produced until 1942. This guitar is in very good condition, with minor signs of play wear and some patina and checking to the top and back of the body and the back of the neck. All electronics and hardware are original, as is the trapeze and bridge.

This 1954 Gibson ES-125 is a wonderful example of the thicker body ES-125 design found predominantly in the 1950s. The Gibson ES-125 was the companies entry level electric arch top from its introduction in 1941, and still represents excellent value in the vintage market as a relatively affordable vintage Gibson arch top from the Golden era of the companies manufacturing electric guitar manufacturing.
